New York Car Transport Services

Open transport is the lowest-cost option for moving a car within the United States. With open transport, one carrier trailer holds several automobiles traveling compatible routes. Sharing trailer capacity spreads operating expenses across multiple customers, helping reduce pricing while providing careful pickup, inspection, securement, and delivery procedures used for standard moves.

Your selected vehicle transport service determines the method. A car may travel by open carrier, enclosed carrier, or cargo vessel when international shipping is required.

After requesting a quote, you confirm service details and a pickup window, prepare the vehicle for shipping, release the vehicle to the assigned driver, and inspect it at destination.

Pricing for shipping a car to New York depends on mileage, vehicle size and weight, condition, pickup access, delivery access, season, and carrier availability. The selected shipping method matters, because enclosed equipment generally costs more than an open trailer. Open-transport planning ranges run from $200–$3,100 across our New York lanes, and shipments typically run $225–$2,150 and the average New York shipment is about $1,005, but that range is only a planning reference. Request a route-specific estimate before booking. Comparing terms from established car shipping companies helps you understand what the price includes. Fuel costs, expedited timing, special equipment, and added services can change the final shipping amount.

Use NIKI’s car shipping quote form or call (818) 732-1805 for a car transport pricing specialist. For a quote, provide the pickup and delivery locations, the vehicle year, make, and model, operating condition, first available date. The team needs to know whether you want an open or enclosed shipping method and whether the vehicle has modifications. Complete route and vehicle details allow carrier capacity, mileage, and shipping conditions to be reflected. Include access restrictions at both locations.

The timeline is based mainly on distance between pickup and delivery. A carrier often covers about 500 miles each day after loading, so a 1,000-mile transport is commonly two to three driving days, with three to five days from pickup to delivery once loading and scheduled stops are included. Traffic, weather, inspections, and stop order can change progress. Dispatch time before pickup is separate, so review both the pickup window and estimated arrival range.

Yes. NIKI provides status updates and direct support throughout the move. After booking, keep your order information available and confirm the best phone number for notifications. The assigned driver normally calls before pickup and delivery, while the office can answer schedule questions during transit. Online shipping status may also be available for your order. Contact support whenever timing, access, or delivery instructions change so the team can respond more promptly. Keep contact details current.

Carrier cargo coverage applies during transit according to the carrier’s certificate and the agreement. Review coverage limits, exclusions, deductibles, and claim instructions before pickup. Protection may be available depending on the order. Ask NIKI for the carrier documentation and report any delivery concern on the Bill of Lading.

NIKI accepts credit cards and electronic payment methods for the booking deposit shown in your agreement. Any balance due at delivery uses the method stated in your order, which may include cash, certified funds or a carrier-approved option. Confirm the payment amount, recipient and instructions with NIKI before sending funds for your shipment.

Yes. An adult must meet the driver at pickup and delivery, provide the vehicle keys, review inspections, and sign the Bill of Lading. The representative may be the customer or someone who is at least 18 and authorized to release or accept the vehicle.

Personal belongings may be allowed when disclosed in advance, kept below the window line, and secured in the trunk or seating area. Total weight must follow the carrier’s limit. Personal property is not part of carrier cargo coverage, and the driver may reject unsafe or prohibited items. Review transport terms before loading anything. Discuss any planned belongings with NIKI before pickup so the carrier can review them.

Scheduling transport two to three weeks before first available date gives dispatch more time to locate suitable capacity and coordinate the window. Earlier notice is useful during holidays, snowbird peaks, severe weather, and relocation periods. Expedited shipping may be possible when timing is tight, but availability depends on the lane. Ask NIKI’s car shipping team about options, dates, and pickup expectations for your car transport. Advance planning improves choice without guaranteeing a carrier or exact day.

The driver will approach each address as local rules, safety, and equipment clearance allow. Many residential pickups and deliveries can occur directly at the address. In dense cities, however, large trucks may be restricted by truck routes, weight limits, low bridges, narrow streets, overhead trees, parked cars, or limited turning space. Auto transport equipment needs a legal stopping area and enough room to maneuver without blocking traffic. When direct access is unsafe, the driver will call and arrange a nearby meeting point, often a shopping center, wide commercial street, truck-accessible parking lot, or other open location. Keep your phone available and remain flexible around the handoff.
